چکیده

Upcycling and reclaiming of low quality or stored coal combustion fly ashes could enable to tap into a voluminous resource supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) for low-carbon blended cements. Low reactivity are usually either too crystalline coarse. Beneficiation treatments coarse comprise size classification milling processes extract produce fine fractions higher pozzolanic reactivity. This article compares the effect on siliceous ash (FA). The intrinsic chemical is assessed using R3 heat release test method. results showed significant increases 57 40% classified milled compared initial ash, respectively. In addition portlandite consumption were measured cements with 30 wt.% Portland cement replacement by ashes. Both combined calculate degree reaction over time in cement. demonstrate strong particle reaction. It shown that increasing inherent an effective way both accelerating compressive strength gain enhancing late age reaching equivalent as neat 28 days attaining activity index 137% 90 days.

Suppressing Heavy Metal Leaching through Ball Milling of Fly Ash

Ball milling is investigated as a method of reducing the leaching concentration (often termed stablilization) of heavy metals in municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash. Three heavy metals (Cu, Cr, Pb) loose much of their solubility in leachate by treating fly ash in a planetary ball mill, in which collisions between balls and fly ash drive various physical processes, as well as chemi...

Elucidating the Pozzolanic Characteristics of Pastes Containing Circulat- ing Fluidized Bed Fly Ash

The aim of this study is to investigate the pozzolanic characteristics of circulating fluidized bed fly ash blended cement (CFBFABC) paste containing circulating fluidized bed fly ash (CFBFA). The initial and final setting time of CFBFABC pastes with CFBFA retards with an increasing CFBFA content. CFBFABC pastes containing 10% CFBFA exhibited a compressive strength similar to that of ordinary P...

Acceleration of Intended Pozzolanic Reaction under Initial Thermal Treatment for Developing Cementless Fly Ash Based Mortar

Without using strong alkaline solution or ordinary Portland cement, a new structural binder consisting of fly ash and hydrated lime was hardened through an intensified pozzolanic reaction. The main experimental variables are the addition of silica fume and initial thermal treatment (60 °C for 3 days). A series of experiments consisting of mechanical testing (compressive and flexural strength, m...

Pozzolanic Reactivity of Silica Fume and Ground Rice Husk Ash as Reactive Silica in a Cementitious System: A Comparative Study

This study comparably assessed the pozzolanic effect of silica fume (SF) and ground rice husk ash (RHA) as supplementary cementing materials on the properties of blended cement pastes and concretes. A commonly commercial silica fume (SF) and locally-produced rice husk ash (RHA) samples with two finenesses (one with larger size than cement and the other with smaller size than cement) were used i...
